The 2016 Eurobasket Summer League has started with a bang under first year Director Dustin Simcox with the first two events. The Portsmouth Summer League featured players from all divisions of college basketball. The first team featured 5 highly successful NCAA Division I players such as Marko Gujanicic (203-F-92, college: George Mason), Joe McDonald (185-PG-93, college: G.Washington), Shane Henry (203-F, college: Virginia Tech), and Nik Biberaj (203-F-93, college: ODU). Not to mention NCAA D3 NECC Player of the year Jerry Buchanon (183-PG-94, college: Elms), Big Ten 1st Team Kanu Aja (206-F-92, college: E.Carolina), NCAA D2 CACC MVP Derek Johnson (198-F-93, college: Philadelphia), and ECAC NCAA D3 South Player of the Year Paul Reynolds (193-F-90, college: Wesley). ESL in Atlanta also featured Top D1 Players such as Jaquail Townser (190-G-94, college: Jacksonville State), Mario Moody (201-F-92), Nigel Pruitt (201-F-94), and Willy Kouassi (208-C-91). We also saw many D2 players take the stage into the Atlanta 1st team such as Brent Jackson (190-G), John Savoy (203-F, college: Shaw), and NAIA's Jumaoke Smith (196-G).

The talent from these two events are bringing a lot of excitement to the NBA Summer League events in Orlando and Las Vegas. The Vegas events in particular are generating a lot of buzz. 3 Prominent International coaches have agreed to Coach the ESL Teams in Vegas. Dutch Coach Thomas Roijakkers (agency: KBA Omnia Europe ) recently serving his time for the Leuven Bears in Belgium will be the first featured Coach. Leuven is in the Top Division of Belgian Professional Basketball featuring 5 Americans from this past season. Those players are as follows Rodney Glasgow (178-PG-92, college: VMI), Gene Teague (206-C-89, college: Seton Hall, agency: HMS), J.J. Avila (201-F-91, college: Colorado St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management), Andre Hollins (188-G-92, college: Minnesota, agency: Pensack Sports), and Anthony Marshall (190-G-91, college: UNLV, agency: Pensack Sports). The Leuven Bears are sponsored by Stella Artois. Roijakkers has spent time with Cape Holland, Bensberg (Germany), SV Halle (Germany), and Zwolle (Netherlands), In 2007 he was aoart of the German 2.DBBL North League Championship. The second coach is Pascual Padilla . Pascual has a deep relationship with Latin American and Mexican teams as a coach and scout. In 2016 alone he has scouted for the Cibacopa League in Mexico, a personal scout for Pioneros de Delicias in the Chihuahua League, and coaches the Basketball Tour for the MSG organization. The third coach to confirm is Armenian National Team Coach Allen Mkrtychyan. Mkrtychyan recently joined the Armenian National Team this year to compete in the European events in Moldova. He is from Moscow, Russia and played in his younger days for the CSKA Moscow program.

To add the cherry on top of all of these benefits of the Las Vegas Summer Leagues is the addition of Lukas Peng and the Chinese Hoop Battle Basketball Team. Hoop Battle is a team of Chinese Basketball Players that are filming a TV Syndicated Show that closely replicates the Hard Knock Series on HBO for American Football Teams. Peng, who is a former player in the CBA and lead scout for Foshan Long Lions of the top league in China is serving as Team Manager. This excitement is bringing top coaches and scouts to not only see the American players that are fighting for professional jobs but to witness the first ever TV production filmed at an International Basketball Event. If you thinking of coming to Vegas for a opportunity to compete for a job overseas the obvious choice is the Eurobasket Summer League run by FIBA Certified Agent Dustin Simcox and team of scouts, coaches, and international marketers that bring you Eurobasket.com. The most powerful tool in international basketball.
