Dayton Mickens (203-F-91, college: Ark.-Monticello) put together an all-around game for Eurobasket Select as he finishes with 19 points, 17 rebounds, and 7 assists in only 21 minutes of action to defeat 1. FC Kaiserslautern 92-67. Mickens along with starters Jeremiah Dunnings (183-PG, college: William Carey), Darvin Ham (196-F-92, college: Northwood), Josh Biber (196-G/F-91, college: Brown), and Josiah Coleman (196-F-94, college: N.Dakota) played together in one of the best starts to the tour schedule. 'At times we tend to get into too much isolation as any team put together like this does. However, tonight the ball went side to side and really made 1. FC Kaiserslautern work on the defensive end. That was the key for us all night long,' Eurobasket Select Head Coach Allen Mkrtychyan said.

'Our starting unit tonight really set the stage for the rest of the guys. We had 4 reach double figures scoring wise and two reach double digits in rebounding. We were getting pounded on the boards early in this tour, tonight we flipped the script,' Tour Manager Dustin Simcox said. Biber was the other starter with double figure rebounding as he grabbed 10 boards, including four of them on the offensive end. Dunnings, Coleman, and Ham finished the contest with 16, 12, and 11 points respectively. Don Quarles (193-F/G-92, college: Paine) was the high man coming off the bench with 12 points and 9 rebounds,

Eurobasket held 1. FC Kaiserslautern to only 11 points in the 2nd quarter as they opened a 20 point halftime lead. 1. FC Kaiserslautern would fight back in a highly contested and hostile 3rd led by Japhet McNeil (183-PG-85, college: Bridgeport), a 7 year veteran throughout Germany, Finland, and Luxembourg. The quarter featured 16 fouls, a questionable intentional foul on Biber, and a free throw technical foul violation on Dunnings. 1. FC Kaiserslautern would go on to win the 3rd quarter 27-19 and cut the lead to 12 before the final quarter. The comeback attempt would stop short as the Dunnings, Coleman, Biber, William Wise (206-F), and Derrick Tony Seldon (196-F/C-93, college: W.Connecticut) would kick off the 4th quarter on a 9-2 run and never look back. Eurobasket advances to 5-0 on the tour against their German counterparts with the last 3 games being won by an average margin of 31 points. Eurobasket will travel to TV 1864 Salzkotten tomorrow for their 6th game of the tour.

Notes: Mickens' 17 rebound and 7 assists were highest totals of any player during the tour...Dunnings has scored in double figures every game of the tour...Eurobasket blocked 8 shots for a tour high.
