Top former ESL players currently in pro basketball based on last week's performance - Dec 12, 2012

We bring you last week's top performances from Eurobasket Summer League players who are playing pro basketball and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. Kyndall Dykes (190-SG-87, agency: Edge Sports, college: New Orleans, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague could not help Hoverla (11-8) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Hoverla lost 79-86 on the road to the lower-ranked (#9) Mykolaiv.
Dykes was the top scorer with 23 points in 30 minutes.
It was Hoverla's third consecutive loss in a row.
It's Dykes' first season with the team.
He has individually a very good year with high stats. Dykes averages: 16.8ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.6apg and 1.4spg in the 19 games he played so far.
He attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. In 2009 Dykes went to the ESL camp in Malaga, Spain playing for Team Naples.
#2. James Tyler (218-C-88, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL could not help Chernomorets (3-5) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Chernomorets was defeated 101-93 at home by the second-ranked Rilski Sportist.
Tyler recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks.
Tyler's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
Tyler is currently second on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (first place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Tyler averages: 18.3ppg, 13.3rpg and 2.8bpg.
Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Two years ago Tyler took part in the ESL camp in Las Vegas playing for Team Dublin.
#3. Akeem Scott (186-PG-83, college: High Point, currently plays in Mexico) led Pioneros to a victory over the 11th-ranked Correcaminos (11-19) 95-78 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) on Saturday night.
He was MVP of the game. Scott scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 21 minutes.
Pioneros de Quintana Roo-Cancun (11-11) is placed fifth in the LNBP.
Scott has relatively good stats this year: 13.2ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.3apg and 1.5spg in the 28 games he played so far.
He is a naturalized American.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Last year Scott played at the ESL camp in Las Vegas playing for Team Geneva.
#4. Robert Holcomb Faye (185-G-84, college: Radford, currently plays in Holland) led Leeuwarden to a victory over the closely-ranked Weert (4-10) 98-91 in the Dutch Eredivisie in Saturday night's game.
Holcomb Faye was the best player in that game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and making 10 passes. Holcomb Faye also added 4 rebounds.
Aris Leeuwarden (7-7) is placed fifth in the Eredivisie.
Holcomb Faye is ranked first on the list of the best passers in the league and also on the list of most steals (fourth place).
He has very reliable stats this season: 12.0ppg, 3.4rpg, 8.4apg and 2.2spg.
Holcomb Faye is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. In 2008 he attended the ESL camp in Las Vegas playing for Team Brussels.
#5. Terrance Woodbury (201-G/F-87, college: Georgia, currently plays in Japan) led Okinawa GK to a victory over the fourth-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (11-7) 97-79 in the Japanese BJ League last Saturday.
He was the top player that evening. Woodbury scored 25 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 28 minutes.
Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (15-1) is placed first in Western group.
It was his team's 15th consecutive victory in a row.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
Woodbury belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #5 with 19.4ppg.
This year he also averages: 5.1rpg and 1.2apg in the 14 games he played so far.
Woodbury played in 2010at the Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas for Team Geneva.
#6. Jason Conley (196-G-81, agency: Warren Sports International, college: Missouri, currently plays in Finland) led LrNMKY to a victory over the tenth-ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (4-11) 90-80 in the Finnish Korisliiga on Saturday night.
He was the top player that evening. Conley recorded 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
Lappeenranta NMKY (9-5) is placed sixth in the Korisliiga.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Conley is currently third on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (second place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Conley averages: 21.7ppg, 8.9rpg, 2.8apg and 2.0spg.
Conley attended last summer the Eurobasket Summer League camp in Las Vegas.
#7. Jason Horton (188-G-86, college: Missouri, currently plays in Mexico) led Barreteros to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Gansos (5-26) 108-95 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) in Saturday night's game.
Horton was the top player that evening. He had a double-double by scoring 27 points and making 11 passes in 33 minutes.
Barreteros de Zacatecas (13-17) is placed tenth in the LNBP.
Horton is currently first on the list of best passers and also on the list of most steals (fourth place).
He has individually a very good year with high stats. Horton averages: 16.9ppg, 3.8rpg, 8.3apg and 1.8spg in the 30 games he played so far.
Worth to mention he played also for Team Brussels at the ESL in Las Vegas in 2010.
#8. Allen Durham (198-F-88, college: Grace Bible, currently plays in Israel) led Hapoel Afula to a victory over the eighth-ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (4-5) 86-76 in the Israeli National League (second division) last Tuesday.
Durham was the top player that evening. He recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points and getting 22 rebounds. Durham also added 3 blocks.
Hapoel Afula (7-2) is placed second in the National League.
It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.
But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen.
Durham is currently first on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (second place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Durham averages: 21.2ppg, 14.2rpg, 3.2apg and 1.6spg.
He played last year at the ESL in Las Vegas for Team Lugano.
#9. Vernon Goodridge (206-F-84, college: La Salle, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague could not help Khimik (11-5) in their last game. Despite Goodridge's good performance Khimik lost 91-105 on the road to the leading Ferro-ZNTU.
He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 20 minutes.
This year Goodridge's overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.9bpg in the 16 games he played so far.
He attended in 2010 the ESL camp in Las Vegas.
#10. Tyrone Kent (196-G/F-86, college: Toledo, currently plays in Israel) led Ironi Ramat Gan to a victory over the league outsider Maccabi Kiryat Bialik (1-8) crushing them 94-59 in the Israeli National League (second division) in Tuesday night's game.
Kent was the top player that evening. He recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 15 rebounds. Kent also added and 4 steals.
Ironi Kfar Hamaccabia Ramat Gan (6-3) is placed fifth in the National League.
But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go.
Kent has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.2ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.7apg and 1.7spg.
Worth to mention he played also for Team Rome at the ESL in Chicago three years ago.

#2. Akeem Wright (200-SF-84, college: Kansas St., currently plays in New Zealand) led Otago OceanaGold Nuggets to a victory over the seventh-ranked Taranaki MA (2-6) 110-93 in the New Zealand NBL last Saturday.
Wright was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points and getting 10 rebounds. Wright also added 7 assists, 3 blocks and 5 steals.
Otago OceanaGold Nuggets (7-0) are placed first in the NBL.
So far his team won all seven games in the Regular Season.
Wright belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #2.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Wright averages: 22.4ppg, 7.3rpg, 2.9apg and 2.4spg.
Worth to mention Wright played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Four years ago he took part in the ESL camp in New York playing for Team Kiev.
#3. Emmanuel Little (196-F-85, college: N.Dakota, currently plays in Mexico), who plays in the Mexican CIBACOPA could not help Rayos de Hermosillo (21-5) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Rayos de Hermosillo was edged 78-76 on the road by the lower-ranked (#4) Fuerza Guinda Nogales.
Little had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 32 minutes.
Little has relatively good stats this year: 12.8ppg, 5.8rpg and 3.0apg in the 26 games he played so far.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five years ago Little played at the ESL camp in Chicago playing for London.
#4. Jayson Granger (186-G-89, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in an Asefa Estudiantes' surprising victory against the second-ranked Caja Laboral (25-9) 90-80 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game.
He scored 17 points, had 5 boards, passed 6 assists and added 3 steals.
Asefa Estudiantes Madrid (15-19) is placed 12th in the ACB.
The Regular Season already ended.
It's Granger's seventh season with the team.
This year Granger has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg.
He has a dual citizenship: Uruguayan and Italian.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. In 2010 Granger attended the ESL camp in New York playing for Team Budapest.
#5. Agnis Cavars (196-F-86, currently plays in Latvia) contributed to Valmiera's victory against the closely-ranked Barons kvartals (21-13) 72-65 in the Latvian LBL last Wednesday.
He scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 25 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK Valmiera (22-12) is placed first in the LBL.
It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.
Cavars is currently fifth on the league's list of best rebounders with 7.6rpg.
This year he also averages: 9.5ppg in the 18 games he played so far.
Cavars played in 2011at the Eurobasket Summer League in Cologne, Germany for Team Belgrade.
#6. Phillippe Harris (180-G-85, agency: Athlete Management Group, college: Fayetteville St., currently plays in Mexico), who plays in the Mexican CIBACOPA could not help Pioneros Los Mochis (8-16) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance Pioneros Los Mochis was defeated 95-83 on the road by the second-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas.
Harris was the second best scorer with 22 points. He also added 7 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 3 balls.
Harris has reliable stats this season: 13.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.2apg and 1.6spg.
Harris attended five years ago the Eurobasket Summer League camp in Salt Lake City.
#7. Olaseni Lawal (208-F/C-86, agency: IBS, college: Wayne St., MI, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) could not help Tezenis VE (15-13) in their last game. Despite Lawal's good performance Tezenis VE lost 67-76 at home to the higher-ranked (#4) Novipiu Casale.
He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 14 rebounds in 34 minutes.
It's Lawal's first season with the team.
Lawal is the league's best rebounder and also on the list of best blockers (first place).
He has very reliable stats this year: 10.7ppg, 13.6rpg, 1.8bpg and 1.9spg in the 32 games he played so far.
Lawal is a naturalized American.
Worth to mention he played also for Team Brussels at the ESL in Las Vegas in 2010.

#9. Matija Poscic (204-C-85, college: De Paul, currently plays in Croatia), who plays in the Croatian A1 could not help KK Zagreb (2-12) in their last game. Despite his good performance the seventh-placed KK Zagreb lost 77-82 on the road to the lower-ranked (#8) Alkar Sinj in the Places 1-8 group.
Poscic was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 7 rebounds in a mere 17 minutes.
It was KK Zagreb's sixth consecutive loss in a row.
The Second Stage already ended.
This year Poscic's overall stats are: 7.8ppg and 6.0rpg in the 29 games he played so far.
Poscic attended in 2012 the ESL camp in Torino.
#10. Dwight Thorne (190-PG-88, college: Colorado, currently plays in Croatia) contributed to a 1-point KK Zadar's victory against the fifth-ranked Jolly (7-7) 77-76 in the Croatian A1 in Tuesday night's game.
Thorne scored 8 points.
KK Zadar (11-3) is placed second in Places 1-8 group.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
They will play only one more game in the Second Stage. And that game will be critical.
Thorne's total stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.4apg.
Worth to mention he played also for Team Kiev at the ESL in Las Vegas last year.

Here in Fuenlabrada, semi-pro and professional players from different leagues in all countries, players can showcase their skills in front of scouts, managers and fans eager to discover new basketball values to be incorporated to their teams. The Eurobasket Summer League has gained the reputation as being the top summer league showcase in the U.S. for professional basketball players and now is back in Europe. This night was an especially great night for the American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) who led his team to a victory scoring 46 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Matthew Gibson helped adding 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman Chris Hester (192-79, college: E.Washington) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). LrNMKY moved-up to fifth place, which they share with KTP. Kouvot at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. Jason attended Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas this summer where he won the Championship with Union Monaco and was voted Co-MVP!
