Top former ESL players currently in pro basketball based on last week's performance - Jan 23, 2013

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Eurobasket Summer League players who are currently playing pro basketball.
#1. Vernon Goodridge (206-F-84, college: La Salle, currently plays in Ukraine) led Khimik to a victory over the 11th-ranked DniproAzot (10-16) 81-76 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Friday night's game.
He was MVP of the game. Goodridge had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 12 rebounds in 23 minutes.
Khimik-OPZ Yuzny (15-11) is placed fifth in the Superleague.
The Regular Season already ended.
It's Goodridge's first season with the team.
This year he averages: 9.8ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.6bpg in the 26 games he played so far.
He attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. In 2010 Goodridge went to the ESL camp in Las Vegas playing for Team Dublin.
#2. P.J. Hill jr. (182-PG-87, college: Ohio St., currently plays in Latvia) led Jekabpils to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Jelgava (1-8) 91-76 in the Latvian LBL last Sunday.
Hill jr. was the best player in that game. He scored 24 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Hill jr.'s third season in pro basketball. BK Jekabpils (12-8) is placed third in the LBL.
His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
Hill jr. is currently third on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best passers (third place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Hill jr. averages: 16.5ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.9apg and 1.1spg.
Worth to mention Hill jr. played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Three years ago he took part in the ESL camp in Las Vegas playing for Team Venice.
#3. Demarius Bolds (190-G-84, agency: I.D.S. Law, college: Missouri Western, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic NBL could not help BC Kolin (12-10) in their last game. Despite his very good performance BC Kolin was crushed 123-86 on the road by the higher-ranked (#4) BK Prostejov.
Bolds was the top scorer with 28 points in 27 minutes.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Bolds is currently fourth on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of most steals (third place).
He has individually a very good year with high stats. Bolds averages: 17.8ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.4apg and 2.3spg in the 22 games he played so far.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five years ago Bolds played at the ESL camp in Chicago playing for Warsaw.
#4. Brandon Brown (201-F-85, college: CS San Bernar., currently plays in Cyprus) led Apollon to a 1-point victory over the league outsider Omonia (2-12) 83-82 in the Cypriot Division A in Tuesday night's game.
He was the top player that evening. Brown recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 11 rebounds.
Forex Time Apollon (8-6) is placed fourth in the Division A.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
The Regular Season already ended.
Brown is currently second on the league's list of top scorers and also on the list of best rebounders (fifth place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Brown averages: 18.8ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.8apg, 1.3bpg and 1.8spg.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. In 2010 Brown attended the ESL camp in Las Vegas playing for Team Zurich.
#5. Matija Poscic (204-C-85, college: De Paul, currently plays in Croatia), who plays in the Croatian A1 could not help KK Zagreb (8-3) in their last game. Despite Poscic's good performance KK Zagreb lost 70-76 on the road to the leading Kvarner 2010.
He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 11 rebounds in 21 minutes.
This year Poscic's overall stats are: 6.6ppg and 5.5rpg in the 11 games he played so far.
He played in 2012at the Eurobasket Summer League in Torino for Team Torino.
#6. Corey Jefferson (183-G-85, college: Texas St., currently plays in Poland) led Kotwica to a victory over the sixth-ranked AZS Koszalin (9-8) 88-76 in the Polish TBL on Saturday night.
Jefferson was the top player that evening. He scored 24 points and added 4 assists.
Kotwica Kolobrzeg (5-12) is placed tenth in the TBL.
It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses.
Jefferson belongs to league's best passers (ranked #5) and also on the list of most steals (fourth place).
His total stats this season are: 9.9ppg, 3.0rpg, 5.1apg and 1.8spg.
He attended four years ago the Eurobasket Summer League camp in Las Vegas.
#7. Akeem Scott (186-PG-83, college: High Point, currently plays in Mexico) was the major contributor in Pioneros' victory against the 11th-ranked Correcaminos (16-24) 93-87 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) in Wednesday night's game.
He scored 15 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 28 minutes.
Pioneros de Quintana Roo-Cancun (11-11) is placed fifth in the LNBP.
Scott has relatively good stats this year: 12.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 3.2apg and 1.5spg in the 37 games he played so far.
He is a naturalized American.
Worth to mention Scott played also for Team Geneva at the ESL in Las Vegas in 2011.
#8. Jayson Granger (186-G-89, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB could not help Asefa Estudiantes (9-9) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his good performance Asefa Estudiantes was defeated 84-79 on the road by the lower-ranked CB Canarias (#12).
Granger scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Granger is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his seventh year in Asefa Estudiantes' roster.
This season he has relatively solid stats: 10.5ppg, 3.3rpg and 3.6apg.
Granger has a dual citizenship: Uruguayan and Italian.
Granger played three years ago at the ESL in New York for Team Budapest.
#9. Riley Luettgerodt (196-G/F-85, agency: I.D.S. Law, college: Hawaii, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) could not help Fontedoso Carrefour (5-8) in their last game. Despite Luettgerodt's very good performance Fontedoso Carrefour lost 69-80 on the road to the leading CB Guadalajara.
He was the top scorer with 32 points. Luettgerodt also added 7 rebounds in 33 minutes.
It was Fontedoso Carrefour's fourth consecutive loss in a row.
Luettgerodt belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #2 with 17.4ppg.
This year his other stats are: 3.5rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg in the 13 games he played so far.
He attended in 2009 the ESL camp in Las Vegas.
#10. James Tyler (218-C-88, currently plays in Bulgaria), who plays in the Bulgarian NBL could not help one of league's weakest teams Chernomorets (4-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Chernomorets was defeated 98-88 on the road by the higher-ranked Beroe (#7).
Tyler recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 6 blocks.
Tyler belongs to league's top scorers (ranked #3) and also on the list of best rebounders (first place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Tyler averages: 18.8ppg, 14.0rpg and 3.1bpg.
Worth to mention Tyler played also for Team Dublin at the ESL in Las Vegas three years ago.

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Eurobasket Summer League players, who play currently pro basketball.
#1. Robert Holcomb Faye (185-G-84, college: Radford, currently plays in Holland), who plays in the Dutch Eredivisie could not help Leeuwarden (20-16) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Leeuwarden was edged 74-73 on the road by the second-ranked Leiden.
Holcomb Faye was the top scorer with 25 points. He also added 6 rebounds and 6 assists in 34 minutes.
Holcomb Faye is currently first on the league's list of best passers with 7.2apg.
He also averaged so far 12.5ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.8spg in the 45 games he played so far.
He attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. In 2008 Holcomb Faye went to the ESL camp in Las Vegas playing for Team Brussels.
#2. Akeem Wright (200-SF-84, college: Kansas St., currently plays in New Zealand) led Otago OceanaGold Nuggets to a victory over the seventh-ranked Taranaki MA (2-6) 110-93 in the New Zealand NBL last Saturday.
Wright was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points and getting 10 rebounds. Wright also added 7 assists, 3 blocks and 5 steals.
Otago OceanaGold Nuggets (7-0) are placed first in the NBL.
So far his team won all seven games in the Regular Season.
Wright belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #2.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Wright averages: 22.4ppg, 7.3rpg, 2.9apg and 2.4spg.
Worth to mention Wright played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Four years ago he took part in the ESL camp in New York playing for Team Kiev.
#3. Emmanuel Little (196-F-85, college: N.Dakota, currently plays in Mexico), who plays in the Mexican CIBACOPA could not help Rayos de Hermosillo (21-5) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Rayos de Hermosillo was edged 78-76 on the road by the lower-ranked (#4) Fuerza Guinda Nogales.
Little had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 32 minutes.
Little has relatively good stats this year: 12.8ppg, 5.8rpg and 3.0apg in the 26 games he played so far.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five years ago Little played at the ESL camp in Chicago playing for London.
#4. Jayson Granger (186-G-89, currently plays in Spain) was the major contributor in an Asefa Estudiantes' surprising victory against the second-ranked Caja Laboral (25-9) 90-80 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game.
He scored 17 points, had 5 boards, passed 6 assists and added 3 steals.
Asefa Estudiantes Madrid (15-19) is placed 12th in the ACB.
The Regular Season already ended.
It's Granger's seventh season with the team.
This year Granger has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg.
He has a dual citizenship: Uruguayan and Italian.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. In 2010 Granger attended the ESL camp in New York playing for Team Budapest.
#5. Agnis Cavars (196-F-86, currently plays in Latvia) contributed to Valmiera's victory against the closely-ranked Barons kvartals (21-13) 72-65 in the Latvian LBL last Wednesday.
He scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 25 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. BK Valmiera (22-12) is placed first in the LBL.
It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.
Cavars is currently fifth on the league's list of best rebounders with 7.6rpg.
This year he also averages: 9.5ppg in the 18 games he played so far.
Cavars played in 2011at the Eurobasket Summer League in Cologne, Germany for Team Belgrade.
#6. Phillippe Harris (180-G-85, agency: Athlete Management Group, college: Fayetteville St., currently plays in Mexico), who plays in the Mexican CIBACOPA could not help Pioneros Los Mochis (8-16) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance Pioneros Los Mochis was defeated 95-83 on the road by the second-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas.
Harris was the second best scorer with 22 points. He also added 7 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 3 balls.
Harris has reliable stats this season: 13.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.2apg and 1.6spg.
Harris attended five years ago the Eurobasket Summer League camp in Salt Lake City.
#7. Olaseni Lawal (208-F/C-86, agency: IBS, college: Wayne St., MI, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) could not help Tezenis VE (15-13) in their last game. Despite Lawal's good performance Tezenis VE lost 67-76 at home to the higher-ranked (#4) Novipiu Casale.
He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 14 rebounds in 34 minutes.
It's Lawal's first season with the team.
Lawal is the league's best rebounder and also on the list of best blockers (first place).
He has very reliable stats this year: 10.7ppg, 13.6rpg, 1.8bpg and 1.9spg in the 32 games he played so far.
Lawal is a naturalized American.
Worth to mention he played also for Team Brussels at the ESL in Las Vegas in 2010.
#8. Terrance Woodbury (201-G/F-87, college: Georgia, currently plays in Japan) was the major contributor in a Okinawa GK's victory against the fifth-ranked Kyoto Hannaryz (29-23) crushing them 90-60 in the Japanese BJ League last Sunday.
Woodbury scored 18 points.
Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (42-10) is placed first in Western group.
It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row.
Woodbury has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.5ppg and 4.5rpg.
He played three years ago at the ESL in Las Vegas for Team Geneva.
#9. Matija Poscic (204-C-85, college: De Paul, currently plays in Croatia), who plays in the Croatian A1 could not help KK Zagreb (2-12) in their last game. Despite his good performance the seventh-placed KK Zagreb lost 77-82 on the road to the lower-ranked (#8) Alkar Sinj in the Places 1-8 group.
Poscic was the second best scorer with 14 points. He also added 7 rebounds in a mere 17 minutes.
It was KK Zagreb's sixth consecutive loss in a row.
The Second Stage already ended.
This year Poscic's overall stats are: 7.8ppg and 6.0rpg in the 29 games he played so far.
Poscic attended in 2012 the ESL camp in Torino.
#10. Dwight Thorne (190-PG-88, college: Colorado, currently plays in Croatia) contributed to a 1-point KK Zadar's victory against the fifth-ranked Jolly (7-7) 77-76 in the Croatian A1 in Tuesday night's game.
Thorne scored 8 points.
KK Zadar (11-3) is placed second in Places 1-8 group.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
They will play only one more game in the Second Stage. And that game will be critical.
Thorne's total stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.4apg.
Worth to mention he played also for Team Kiev at the ESL in Las Vegas last year.

Here in Fuenlabrada, semi-pro and professional players from different leagues in all countries, players can showcase their skills in front of scouts, managers and fans eager to discover new basketball values to be incorporated to their teams. The Eurobasket Summer League has gained the reputation as being the top summer league showcase in the U.S. for professional basketball players and now is back in Europe. This night was an especially great night for the American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) who led his team to a victory scoring 46 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Matthew Gibson helped adding 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman Chris Hester (192-79, college: E.Washington) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). LrNMKY moved-up to fifth place, which they share with KTP. Kouvot at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. Jason attended Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas this summer where he won the Championship with Union Monaco and was voted Co-MVP!
