ESL's Articles

Today, players who have been flying in over the weekend and today got to shoot around in the main pavillion of Feunlabrada and this evening we begin drills and practice. The goal of the actual ESL Summer League's in Madrid or any other location is to bring opportunities to young, talented and ambitious players like yourself. ESL wants to help everyone that inspires to play at the next level, to have a healthy and long career in Spain or Europe. This year from June 24th to June 29th, Madrid will host the Eurobasket Summer League and it will be organized in conjunction with an ACB club, Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, a club that has promoted players like Biyombo or Gustavo Ayon to the NBA. This is not the first summer league for Fuenlabrada as from 1996 to 2002 Fuenlabrada partnered with the ACB league to organize a summer league that promoted many good players who came and lifted their careers even to an NBA level. The summer league was very successful then and this year's event for the first time in more than ten years is promising to be even better with many talented players as we have prospects from all over the world including several NBA potential draft picks. There were unknown players like Pablo Prigioni (190-PG-77) (190-PG-77) (190-PG-77), Carlos Delfino (200-SF-82) (200-SF-82), Tiago Splitter (211-C/F-85, agency: Interperformances) (211-C/F-85, agency: Interperformances), Anderson Varejao (205-C-82) (205-C-82), David Vanterpool (195-G/F-73, college: St.Bonaventure) (195-G/F-73, college: St.Bonaventure) or Walter Herrmann (207-F-79) (207-F-79) (207-F-79) from overseas who had their first experience in Europe in that Summer League and after made it to an Spanish or European clubs and later to the NBA. Also, others players like Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports), Vlado Llievski and Marco Carraretto (197-G-77, agency: Players Group) who came and after made a successful career in Europe. ACB Sport Directors will attend this Summer League as well as coaches from LEB Gold and Silver, Spanish Agents, coaches from other countries and managers. This is a great investment in your future and will provide you many good opportunities, so we look forward to seeing you here next Monday for a great week next week.
