Alvaro Munoz
La Serna 81 - La Avanzada 62

La Serna is proclaimed champion as Alvaro Munoz (195-SF-90, agency: Duran International) has an outstanding performance in the decisive minutes to secure the victory for La Serna. This was an absolutely great game to conclude a great first edition of the Eurobasket Summer League which was held this week at the pavilion Fernando Martin de Fuenlabrada. The good vibes and atmosphere of finale were preceded by the Goodwill game in which set up the crowd for the finale. The final game was very good and La Avanzada jumped all over La Serna early and kept the lead most of the first half. However, the outcome is misleading because the tone was equal to beyond 30 minutes of play. The contestants have been La Serna and La Avanzada, the top two in the regular competition, and both have demonstrated why they are in the championship game.
La Avanzada was the first to take advantage, albeit with narrow margins led by John DiBartolomeo (183-PG, agency: Duran International, college: Rochester) who was one of the best point guards here day in and day out. The boys trained by Monclova were more successful under the basket, where they found too many options to score. Despite all this, the score remained balanced, while break the 33-34 left everything to play for the second half. The dynamics were the same in the third period with the score constantly changing but remaining close. When everything seemed to devote ourselves to a final thrill, Alvaro Munoz took center stage that translated his best minutes of the whole tournament in ten points almost straight, decisive to break the encounter wide open. It was not only his merit, generally the whole of La Serna team raised its performance to wrap up the championship with the decisive 81-62 victory.
There will be more deliberate evaluations in the coming days, but everyone can ensure that this Eurobasket Summer League has been a success by the number of players under aroused attention of the distinguished visitors and the constant influx of public in Fernando Martin Pavillion. This competition that seems to have closed today the first edition of many ESL's in Fuenlabrada.
