Eurobasket Summer League tour team in Australia

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Eurobasket Summer League players, who play currently pro basketball.

Emmanuel Little
Emmanuel Little
#1. Emmanuel Little (196-F-85, college: N.Dakota, currently plays in Mexico) contributed to a 1-point Rayos de Hermosillo's victory against the fifth-ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (15-17) 77-76 in the Mexican CIBACOPA in Monday night's game. He scored 8 points, had 12 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 33 minutes. Rayos de Hermosillo (26-6) is placed first in the CIBACOPA. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Little has relatively good stats this year: 12.1ppg, 5.8rpg and 3.1apg in the 46 games he played so far. He attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. In 2008 Little went to the ESL camp in Chicago playing for London.

Akeem Wright
#2. Akeem Wright (200-F/G-84, college: Kansas St., currently plays in New Zealand), who plays in the New Zealand NBL could not help Otago OceanaGold Nuggets (11-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Otago OceanaGold Nuggets were crushed 97-72 on the road by the leading Wellington Exodus Saints. Wright was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 7 rebounds. Wright's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Wright is currently fourth on the list of top scorers. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Wright averages: 21.1ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.7apg and 1.7spg. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Four years ago Wright took part in the ESL camp in New York playing for Team Kiev.

Garrius Holloman

#3. Garrius Holloman (198-F-89, college: Beth.-Cookman, currently plays in New Zealand), who plays in the New Zealand NBL could not help Advice First Waikato Pistons (2-13) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked Advice First Waikato Pistons lost 85-96 on the road to the second-ranked Zero Fees Southland Sharks. Holloman was the second best scorer with 18 points. He also added 5 rebounds in 40 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Holloman's third season in pro basketball. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Holloman has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.7ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.8apg and 1.8spg in the 13 games he played so far. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Last year Holloman played at the ESL camp in Las Vegas playing for Team Kiev.

Game One: First game of the day saw the Chicago Bulls of the showcase beat up on the San Antonio Spurs 91-74. Anthony White (188-G-92, college: Mercer) from Mercer University led the way for Chicago with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist while Ebuka Anyaorah (193-G-90, college: N.C.Central) had 16 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Game 1: Miami Heat 89 - San Antonio Spurs 86 Day 2 of the Portsmouth Pre-Draft Showcase kicked out with a tight game between the Heat and the Spurs, both winners on Day 1 of the event. The Spurs led for most of the game before the Heat made a furious comeback in the final quarter.
