Stockholm defeated Moscow in a close encounter by the score of 66-62.
This was the second game of the Eurobasket Summer League at Fordham University in New York City.
Stockholm always seemed in control of the contest but Moscow did make some nice runs to keep the contest close.
Raquel Collier (178-G/F-86) was sensational as she displayed quickness, athleticism, great ballhandling skills and a nice jump shot as she scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and had a bunck of steals to lead the Stockholm team.
Amaka Uzomah (183-F-86, college: Colorado St.) was a force inside and she used her physical presence to intimidate the Moscow players and she scored 7 points, pulled 10 rebounds, 4 steals and had several block shots.
Odessa Williams (183-F-86, college: Longwood) had her turn around jumper working to perfection and added a quality inside presence as she dropped a double double of 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winning squad.
Kara Kinzer (173-G-87) who has a beautiful perimeter shot hit a couple of 3 pointers and scored 10 points and handed out 3 assist for Stockholm.
Ashley Blake (165-G-86, college: Cal.St. Northridge) from Cal State Northridge controlled the tempo of the game and displayed quality nice point guard skills while chipping in 6 points and dishing out 4 assists.
Moscow was led by the great all around play of Crystal Bellinger (173-G-85, college: Rhode Island) did it all and was very exciting to watch play with her no look passes and nice ball handling skills.
She scored 11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and had 3 steals.
Shenika Chang (188-F-87, college: Fairleigh Dickinson) played extremely well displaying great work ethic and high intensity as she scored 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
Tena Matthews (173-G-85, agency: Team Quest Inc., college: Northwestern St.) had a nice all around game featuring her quickness and athleticism as she scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Sierra Cooper (178-F/G-86, college: Rhode Island) the other Rhode Island player was eaqully impressive as she scored 6 ponits and had 7 rebounds for the Moscow team.
All of the ESL coaches were amazed by Toby Martin (165-G-87, college: Franklin Pierce) as the speedy point guard created havoc by getting steals and was always penetrating the lane creating shots for her teammates.
This game featured some quality players who have a lot of talent and can play in Europe.
