The Eurobasket Select Team earned it's second win of the tour tonight against SC RASTA Vechta 2nd team while leading wire to wire. Eurobasket's Luke Cochran (208-C) scored the first eight points of the game on route to his team high 16 points and 7 rebounds. The starting unit of Cochran, Kenny Bellinger (185-G-92, college: Armstr.Atlantic), Isaiah Butler (188-G-92), Arvel Atwater (196-F), and Nick Trisko (203-C, college: Spalding) built an early 12 point lead and never really looked back. Eurobasket controlled a double-digit lead the rest of the way as the second unit of Grant Prusator (183-PG-94, college: Arkansas Tech), Quaderrick Shaw (191-G-93, college: Florida St.), Ryan Burnett (196-G/F-92, college: Columbus St.), Jordan Stotts (203-F-93, college: Sioux Falls), and Kris Bell (206-F/C, college: Ft.Valley St.) scored 50 of the 88 points in their 20 minutes of action.

'I thought tonight was the first night that we really came together and played as a team,' Eurobasket Select Head Coach Allen Mkrtychyan said. 'We have had a real trouble with turnovers in the first two games, but tonight we limited them and even welcomed them. We had two shot clock violations because we were so unselfish on the offensive end. On a new team with players coming from all over, I will welcome that as a sign of growth.'

Three players reached double figures in scoring, as mentioned before Cochran scored the team high 16 points, but Burnett and Bell in the second unit had 14 and 10 points respectively. Stotts, a 6'7 Forward from Sioux Falls University just missed the team's first double-double of the tour with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Point guards Bellinger, Prusator, and Butler each did their jobs distributing the basketball as they all had personal tour highs with 5, 4, and 3 assists respectively.

SC RASTA Vechta 2nd team, a young team with a couple very strong import players. Robert Crawford (201-G/F-90, college: Cent.Arkansas), an American from Central Arkansas with experience in Colombia and Portugal scored 28 points, while Croatian Center Neven Zeravica (205-C-88, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) had 14 points and 9 rebounds. 'They have a lot of young players they are trying to develop for their Pro A team, but I think they have brought in great older imports that will help speed that process along. Crawford, is an exciting player that I think will allow Vechta some good success in the regionalliga,' Mkrtychyan said.

Eurobasket Select will have a busy Wednesday as half of the team will travel to Quackenbrueck to take on Pro B power Artland Dragons, while the other half of the team will battle Dusseldorf. Both teams should present interesting challenges for the team of Americans. Zach Gordon (203-F-93, college: Cal Poly - SLO), Killven Samuel (188-G-89, college: Northeastern St.), Drew Sears (213-G), and Marquis Marshall (196-F-93, college: Alvernia, PA) all had their mandatory rest days on Tuesday. But all 14 players will be active in the doubleheader on Wednesday. Stay tuned for the results of these two matchups!
