The announcement of the 1st ever Istanbul Eurobasket Summer League last week has brought great excitement throughout the region as top coaches and players are confirming their interest in attending. 'The response of ESL throughout Asia, the Middle East, and Europe has been great.' ESL Director Dustin Simcox said. 'We have had registrations from players National Team players throughout Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and even players coming all the way from the United States.'

Hall of Fame Coach Mark Arce and NCAA Division 1 Coach Ron Verlin from the United States were the first coaches announced to be in attendance on the March 29th announcement. Foreign coaches Ahmad Farran from Lebanon, Zoran Zupcevic from Serbia and Bosnia, and Allen Mkrtychyan from Russia and Armenia were confirmed as well that day. We are now proud to announce Faisal Buresli former Head Coach of the Kuwait Men's National Team will also be joining the Eurobasket Staff for Istanbul. Buresli, was named best coach in Kuwait in each of the 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 seasons. With over 3 months remaining until the start of the ESL in Istanbul, many more are expected to join.

'We are expecting some of the best talent to come to Istanbul from across the region' Ugur Turker said in a statement. 'Wael Arakji (194-PG-94) known as the Lebanese Goran Dragic has confirmed registration along with promising prospect from Iran Meysam Hokmabadi and Ziad Elayyan from Jordan's National Team'.
