The Women's Eurobasket Portugal Tour Team fought hard but came up short in a 55-49 loss at CPN in Game 2 of their trip. It was combination of common miscues that a team formed two days ago with only practice would expect to have when playing a quality team with a experienced coach like Agostinho Pinto . Eurobasket led by 3 at halftime behind superior defensive efforts. However, CPN came out of the half on fire taking a 36-23 lead after connecting on 6 consecutive 3 point attempts in the 1st 3 minutes to match their point total of the entire first half. After a timeout, the defensive reigns tightened again and Eurobasket closed the 3rd quarter on a 13-5 run to trail 41-36. But the 4th quarter remained out of reach as CPN secured the win.


Eurobasket's stellar defense forced CPN to shoot 27% from the field which allowed 3 different players (Sylwia Harda (189-F-1991), Jada Smith (175-G/F), and Kylie Meadows (180-F, college: Bluefield)) to secure 12 rebounds a piece. But it was the offensive end that was the struggle as CPN's defense held Eurobasket to 26% shooting to go with 20 turnovers and 14 missed free throws. "Its hard to win a game when you have that many mistakes. But we are still getting acclimated to the time difference from the USA and learning how to play together. The fact we still had a chance in the final minutes to win the game despite all this is very positive," Eurobasket Coach Dustin Simcox said.


Wil'Lisha Jackson (173-G/F-2000) and Jada Camacho (173-G-1999, college: NJCU) were the only two players in double figures for Eurobasket with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Camacho just narrowly missed a double-double with 9 rebounds. Meadows, Smith, and Mashya Scott (168-G-2001) each scored 6. Taylor Dunn was in foul trouble throughout the game finished with 5 points and 2 steals.
