  Eurobasket Tour returns to Portugal, defeats Gafanha in opening game - September 10, 2024

The Eurobasket Tour consists of 10 available players with American passports currently in Europe looking for their next playing opportunity. For more information on the team or players please contact Eurobasket Director Dustin Simcox at +1 330-958-3245.

Eurobasket once again returns to Portugal with its 6th team since 2019 to face the local professional clubs with players searching for professional opportunities. This year’s tour started against Gafanha and a familiar face in Lillian Brown (175-G-1998, college: NKU). Brown is a past tour participant who will be entering her 3rd professional season.
The talent on this tour may be the best since 2019 when names like Martha Burse (168-G-1996, college: Indianapolis), Crystal Polk (188-F-1996, college: Tulsa), Jade Vega (165-G-1997, college: CS Fullerton, agency: LBM Management), Kianna Wynn (183-F/C-1997, college: Barton, NC), and other prominent professional players began their careers. In their first game together there were some growing pains, but the end result was a 25 point victory 80-55.
Julia Schatkowsky (188-F-1999, college: Winnipeg), a 6’1 F from Canada was the leading scorer of the game and the top ranker in player efficiency. She scored 17 points (8-11 FG) with 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Kylie Meadows (180-F, college: Bluefield), a returner from the 2023 tour notched her 1st double-double of the trip with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists. Meadows played this past season in Cyprus for Moufflons averaging 19 pts and 14 rebounds per game.
A pair of guards were the other two Eurobasket members in double figures. Eden Billups-Campbell (168-G) from Park University finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals while Shirliz Apiyo from Canadian Mennonite University finished with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Other contributing players included Janisha Lindsey (157-PG-1994, college: Cumberland), a 5’6 G with professional experience in Armenia. She lead the team with 6 assists (0 Turnovers) and 6 steals! She averaged 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists in her 1st pro season. Romola Dominguez (170-G), a G from Colorado State Pueblo opened her tour with 9 points and 4 assists. Rachel Cutts, college: Central Mo.), a visible threat inside defensively and on the glass finished with 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 points. Jordan Tobin (178-F, college: Five Towns), the star from Five Towns College in NY scored 5 points to go with 8 rebounds. Closing out the players that played in the 1st game was Lehman College double-double machine Myandra Duquesnay (185-C) who had 6 points.
2 players did not participate due to travel delays. Jaida Muhammad a 5’6 G from Arkansas Monticello and Ebonie Ellison (180-F-1992, college: WAU)-Velasquez a 6’1 C from Washington Adventist will make their debuts Tuesday night against Povoa.
