  Eurobasket brings Women’s Tour Back to Portugal, splits first two games with Coimbroes and Povoa. - May 29, 2024

The Eurobasket Tour for Women is back again for a 2024 session in May this time to showcase players looking for their first opportunities to play overseas. The tour has been extremely successful as the 2023 team featured all but one player signing professionally. We have 9 players with us on this trip that are available for opportunities and can be discussed with Eurobasket Director Dustin Simcox at dsimcox@eurobasket.com. The Game Box scores and Videos can be found below. The team consists a mix of size and guards.
The first game of the tour this year featured our yearly match up in Coimbroes where the Eurobasket ladies dropped their first game playing together. Hope Jordens, a W/F from Briercrest College in Canada was the top performing scoring 13 points on 6-8 FG to go along with 7 rebounds. The size features Jordens, Roxkel Washington (185-F), a 6’1 athletic forward from Post University lead the team with 9 rebounds while Antanisha Wade (F) (5’8 W/F) from Philander Smith had 4 points and 3 rebounds.
The guards were led by Denaj’za Jackson (5’5 G from Oakwood Univ) and Sabrina Vlahovic (5’8 G from Plymouth State) in the Coimbroes game. Vlahovic, a future Italian passport holder, scored 8 pts with 4 reb and 3 ast in full hustle mode style of game. Jackson added 9 points in her overseas debut. The final guard position goes to Anna Pyne, the star guard from Canadian Mennonite University averaged 16 pts and 6 ast this past season as a senior.
At the combo and wing positions, you have Christina Passerell (180-F, college: John Carroll), Madison Shelton (173-G-1998, college: Ranger CC), and Jzane Cavalli-Money (170-G-1998, college: UMFK). All three struggled shooting the ball in the opener but have a great skill set to offer prospective teams. Passerell, a 6’0 Shooter can provide space and versatility to teams rotations. Shelton, a hard nose defender that is athletic, active, and determined to get her first opportunity. Money, a swiss army knife. She has the ability to play the guard positions but the size and versatility to move to the wing to score and playmake off the bounce.
Eurobasket had a much better showing in the 2nd game against Povoa as they prepare for the CN2 National Championship game on Saturday. Passerell lead all scorers with 14 points going 2-5 from 3. Wade and Shelton each scored 9, Jackson 8, and the compliments of Jordens, Cavalli-Money, and Washington each scored 7. Washington once again lead the team in rebounds with 9, while Passerell and Jordens grabbed 7. Shelton had a tour high 4 steals in the victory.
